Best Friends Make the Best Big Brothers – Chapter Seven

After the show the class got to go to a party with the cast. There was a dance floor that lit up and everything. And, once again, unlimited drinks for everyone there. By the time the final song was playing and everyone was getting their last minute autographs from their favorite knight, everyone was exhausted. The bus ride back to the hotel was very quiet. Half the kids were asleep, the other half too tired to talk. Trevor was one of the ones in between; he kept nodding off, but not long enough to actually pass out. Alex was trying really hard to stay awake. He wanted to make sure that Trev didn’t fall too far down in his sleep. He was actually starting to get really concerned for his friend.

Trevor hadn’t talked to him or Paidion – who was currently sprawled out over Alex’ lap and into his own seat snoring – about what he planned on doing to manage his bedwetting during the trip. He figured he probably had some of those pull-up things that he wore at their sleepovers sometimes. He just hoped that Trev made it back to the hotel and into his pajamas before he was completely out. The second Trevor really started to sleep, there was no waking him up until breakfast. All he wanted was for himself, and his friends, to have a very good time.

They finally arrived at the hotel around eleven at night. Lights out was at midnight, not that anybody was going to be staying up that late. When the boys got into their hotel room, Alex went to turn something on the TV, Trevor flopped down on the bed, and Paidion headed into the bathroom. A few moments later Alex heard the shower running and quickly ran over to the door.

“Pai, what are you doing”, Alex asked with a bit of harshness in his voice.

Relax, man. I feel greasy after eating that whole chicken with my hands. I figured with all the sunscreen we’ll be wearing in the parks, and all the sweating we’ll be doing, I should take a shower to prevent any acne from flawing up my awesome face”, the other boy shouted from behind the door and shower curtain.

“Well how long are you gonna be,” Alex now slightly annoyed replied, “I wanna make sure Trev uses the bathroom before he is completely knocked out.”

“He can just come in and go if he wants. I mean, I am behind a curtain and stuff. I won’t mind if he comes in a pees real quick”, the showering boy said.

Alex rolled his eyes, right he thought that would be easier than making Trev wait it out. Alex started walking over to Trevor[/I]. Besides, I’m sure he is bursting to go after all that soda he drank. He walked up to his sleepy buddy, “Hey, Trev, come on. You should try and pee before bed. And put on anything you think you might want to before you fall asleep”, he didn’t want to says the word pull-up. He didn’t want to embarrass Trevor if it was avoidable. He just hoped that Trev knew what he meant. But Trevor didn’t move. Alex tried again, “Come on man you gotta get up. I know you’re tired but you drank a lot tonight. Think about how disappointed you’ll feel if you wet the bed tonight. If you go to the bathroom, that might not happen. Think of how awesome that would be. Come on, Trev. TREV, TREV-O, TREVOR!”

Dude why are you shouting I can’t hear my hair squeaking. How am I supposed to remember if I washed it”, Paidion screamed from the bathroom.

“We got a problem. Trev…”

The bathroom door swung open and out came a boy with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist and soap suds still on his arm, “What happened. He didn’t already wet the bed did he?”

Alex shook his head, “Not exactly. He’s out cold though. And he isn’t dressed for bed.”

Paidion looked around. There was nobody else in the room besides the three boys, but it was a habit thing whenever talking about Trevor and his problems,” Do you even know if he pack pull-ups? I mean, he barely wears them when we’re at his house. What makes you think he would bring them now?”

Alex was about to start freaking out on Paidion when he realized he was right, he didn’t know if he actually packed them. There was only one way to find out. “Hand me his bag. If he brought them, they gotta be in there right?”

Paidion obliged and brought the bag, but then he posed another question, “You know,” he said with a slightly maniacally evil expression in his voice,” even if there are pull-ups in there, you are gonna have to put them on him. He’s too far gone to get up and do it himself.”

Alex looked down at his sleeping friend. He wouldn’t mind getting his friend ready for bed. It would just be like if he had a little brother that he was in charge of for the night. He knew from his very few babysitting jobs how to change a diaper. The only difference was Trevor was bigger than a toddler. And a pull-up was way easier to put on than a diaper… or so he hoped.

“Ok,” Alex said,” hand me one of the pull-ups and his Star Wars pajama pants. I’ll get him ready for bed. You finish your shower, greaseball.”
