“NO ‘Daddy’ !!!” Amy was sitting in her high chair, the fish fingers and spaghetti hoops almost untouched on the plate in front of her. ‘Daddy’ was lifting a spoon full of the hoops to her mouth but she was turning her head away, refusing to eat anything more. “Look Amy, if you don’t eat some more of your dinner then there is no ice cream for you !” ‘Daddy’ says sternly, moving the spoon towards Amy’s tight-lipped mouth but Amy just shakes her head in refusal. “That’s it, you had your chance” ‘Daddy’ says, as he puts the spoon back down and removes the plate from the high chair tray and throws it on the kitchen worktop. “Why did you ask for fish fingers and spaghetti hoops if you didn’t want them?. Sometimes you make ‘Daddy’ VERY CROSS !” ‘Daddy’ continues, as he roughly wipes Amy’s mouth and hands with a flannel. Amy looks up at ‘Daddy’ with her deep, tear filled, hazel eyes and her bottom lip poking out and quivering slightly “sorry ‘Daddy’” she whimpers. As usual it is enough to soften daddies rage and he gives her a little smile and says soothingly “just try and be a good girl for ‘Daddy’ and he won’t get cross…..ok baby”. Amy responds with a little nod and a cheeky smile “ice cream ‘Daddy’ ?” she enquires. “No baby, you know the rules……no ice cream unless you eat your dinner. Now lets get you down and changed” he says, as he lifts Amy out of the chair.
