Chris White was on his first wake cycle and it had not been great. He had to work for that idiot Amy Bedford who had obviously been out of her tube too long. The Christophe case was a prime example, it followed none of the original conventions for dreamscape architecture. It was plainly obvious that the subject was well off the normal approved programing.
She kept saying let it run, see what happens. It was perverse and not normal. The poor subject had for whatever reason taken a perfectly good valiant knight program and reduced himself to a young girl that giggled at pink horses and wore diapers. It was as strange a corruption as he had ever seen and every reset of the program found the subject right back in that pink room being treated like an oversized baby.
He isn’t sure when he decided it but he had, he was dumping that program today. He would instead load a program so different from the valiant knight one that there would be no way the subject could twist it back to that damnable pink room. With that resolve in mind he pocketed a space travel program, something Chris knew exactly how to program sub routines for as he was living that very life now.
He made his way through the halls passing crew working on various systems in the ship. He arrived at cryo-room 1502 where the Christophe tube was. The tubes were on every wall but he walked quickly to the one he was looking for, 1502-57/Christophe. He brought up the console on the side and typed in his access code. He pulled the fob from his pocket and inserted it into the waiting port. The upload was quick for a program file like this, it was large.
Now that the new file was in place he went to remove the valiant knight program and restart. He clicked on the file and hit delete, but got an access denied error. He was startled when the door behind him whisked open and there was Amy Bedford with two security guards. They quickly had his arms pinned behind his back as Amy moved forward to look at the damage.
“Just can’t leave well enough alone can you Chris”, Amy smirked at the squirming tech. “You still don’t get it, Christophe is happy, it doesn’t matter that where and what he is isn’t normal to you. But you will get it and very soon. Take him to detention room 3 I’ll be right there”, Amy snapped to the guards.
